Kier group has this morning confirmed that it has launched a takeover bid for Mouchel.

Kier has made the announcement confirming that it has held preliminary discussions with  Mouchel regarding a potential acquisition in response to recent press speculation.

In a statement issued to the Stock Exchange, Kier said that there can be no certainty that an acquisition of Mouchel will be completed and that a further announcement would be made if and when appropriate.

Both firms are key players in the UK water sector.
