Severn Trent Water is progressing with work on the delivery of two projects worth a combined total of around £6.5 million.

The water comany is investing around £1.5m in new water pipes in Oakham as part of a project that will provide a reliable water supply for the town for years to come.

The company is planning to replace almost three kilometres of water pipes in the market town -nlocal people are being invited to share their views on the project.

In a separate scheme, Severn Trent will be carrying out two projects in Newtown to install new water pipes to provide the town with a reliable water supply for years to come.

The projects form part of a wider scheme that will see the company invest around £5m and install 30 miles of new water pipes to deliver a better water supply to people in Powys.

The new pipes will take water from the Glascoed Reservoir into homes and businesses throughout the Newtown area.

From next engineers from the water company’s alliance partners Amey will be starting to install some of the new pipes under the A483 near to Glascoed Hall.
