Northumbrian Water is investing more than £3 million in upgrades to its Pegswood sewage treatment works in Northumberland.

The work at Pegswood STW will help to improve the quality of the Bothal Burn for the benefit of the people, the environment and wildlife.

Work started at the end of May – Northumbrian’s partner, Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB), will be carrying out the work to improve the site, which will be phased across 20 months.

The project includes the installation of a new tank and apparatus as well as the upgrade of existing equipment.
