Southern Water has moved up five places in the latest water industry customer satisfaction survey by industry regulator Ofwat.
The survey measures how customers rate their interactions with water and sewage companies four times a year on queries about waste water, drinking water and billing.
Southern Water’s overall result was 4.32 out of 5 - exactly the industry average.
The water company has moved up five places from 15th to 10th out of 18 companies in the first survey of the year to 10th in the second survey. The latest result puts the company in 13th place on combined scores from the surveys conducted so far this year.
On customer billing enquiries Southern moved up five places to 13th out of 18. The score of 4.39 out of 5 was its best ever but is still below the industry average of 4.48, while it was above the industry average on water queries with a score of 4.15 versus the average score of 4.09 and were in ninth place.
The company was also above average on waste water queries with a score of 4.34 versus the average tally of 4.29. The score put Southern Water 7th out of 11 companies which provide waste water services.
