Anglian Water invests £3.7m to improve resilience for Louth

Anglian Water has begun work to install a new pumping station at its existing water treatment works near Louth in a bid to improve the resilience and reliance of its water network.

The work, part of a £3.7 million investment from the water company, will help to improve the existing water network in the area, allowing the company to bypass its existing treatment works in the event of a failure, improving the resilience of network and keeping taps running in Lincolnshire for years to come.

David Hartley, Anglian Water spokesperson, said: "We’re always looking for ways to improve and enhance the resilience of our water network, and this work is just another example of our commitment to making sure that our network is resilient in the face of ever-changing demands.

“By installing a new pumping station at our existing site in Louth, it will allow us to pump water in order to support Raithby in the event of a failure, strengthening the resilience of our network and keeping taps running in the area.”

The work will see a brand new pumping station built to improve the network at the company’s water treatment facility in Louth, and is expected to be completed in April 2020.
