Uisce Éireann is getting work underway with crews arriving on site to deliver major wastewater upgrades for three Donegal communities.

Dŵr Cymru – also known as Welsh Water – will appear before the Welsh Affairs Committee this morning as part of its work on water quality in Wales to discuss illegal untreated wastewater spillages at dozens of sewage plants and other issues.

The House of Lords will hold a formal debate on the HoL Industry and Regulators Committee report: 'The affluent and the effluent: cleaning up failures in water and sewage regulation' next week on Monday 16^th October.

Water companies are currently facing unprecedented levels of criticism and scrutiny, particularly on issues surrounding wastewater treatment and sewage discharges from storm water overflows. The supply chain has a key role to play in helping them to deliver a sustained and consistent operational performance with partnership and collaboration increasingly seen as the best way forward to achieving their goals.
