Northumbrian Water has awarded a framework contract for its AMP7 Scientifc Services capex procurement worth an estimated £2.1 million in total.
The framework will cover the supply of major items of analytical laboratory equipment over the next 5 years.
Previous supplier was Thermo Fisher Scientific who were awarded a framework contract in October 2015.
The contract was tendered in five Lots as follows:
- Lot 1 Liquid Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry (LCMS); Liquid Chromatography;
- Lot 2 colorimetry (including discreet and continuous flow);
- Lot 3 physical chemistry (pH, conductivity, alkalinity and fluoride);
- Lot 4 ion chromatography;
- Lot 5 gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC, GCFID, GCMS and thermal desorption).
The initial contract term is three years, with a further 2 year extension option.
Two companies were in the bidding for the work - Cheadle-based firm Agilent Technologies LDA UK Ltd and Milton Keynes company Skalar UK Ltd have both been awarded contracts under the framework.
