Scottish Water has awarded a contract for steel fabrication services with an estimated total value of £2 million (excluding VAT).

The water company originally got quotes from pre qualified bidders. Scottish Water said that following the lack of competition of Supply Of Low Emission Structural Steel, no suitable tenders were provided and it had made use of the negotiated procedure without prior call for competition under Regulation 48 of the Utility Regs 2016 on direct negotiation.
Initial contract term is 4 years with further potential extension options available.
Falkirk- based firm Hescott Engineering Company Ltd has been awarded the contract. Scottish Water had received three tenders in total for the work.
