Low carbon energy technologies will need global investment of $5 trillion between 2015 and 2025 in order to bring down costs and accelerate deployment, according to a new report from the Carbon Trust.

The C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40) and Arup have released 'Climate Action in Megacities 3.0', the world’s most extensive quantitative study of city climate action.

Met Office data for 2015 so far shows that, for the first time, global mean temperature at the Earth's surface is set to reach 1 °C above pre-industrial levels - an important marker as the world continues to warm due to human influence.
