Flooding and Flood Defence

River thames Oxford 1The Environment Agency has launched a major new consultation on the approaches being considered to manage the risk of flooding across the Thames Valley. 

EA Hythe Ranges sea defenceThe Environment Agency (EA) has pledged to default to low-carbon concrete when constructing flood defences and other critical infrastructure projects, provided they meet performance requirements, as it sets out its roadmap to hit net zero as an organisation by 2030.

The Environment Agency has published the Fens flood risk management baseline report - the report is the outcome of phase 1 of flood risk management work which started 3 years ago, to develop a shared understanding of the flood risk challenges in the Great Ouse Fens of Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

 

EA FCERM ANNUAL ACTION PLAN 2021

The Environment Agency has today launched its annual FCERM (Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management) Strategy Action Plan to help protect England from flooding and coastal erosion.
