Flooding and Flood Defence

The Environment Agency is asking residents for their views on a potential future scheme to reduce the risk of flooding from Marton West Beck.

Natural Resources Wales has appointed the main contractor Dawnus to carry out the works for the  Roath Flood Risk Management Scheme on its behalf.

The Welsh Government has announced an additional £33 million in capital funding for flooding schemes across Wales.

The Environment Agency is warning that heavy rainfall expected across parts of the north-west of England and the Pennines from Friday onwards will bring the risk of flooding to land and roads.

A pioneering new study has warned that the potential hidden economic cost to property from groundwater flooding in England could be as much as £530 million per year.
