grid mediteranean area-01-735x735Extreme sea-levels - which can cause catastrophic floods - have been mapped with greater accuracy than ever before in a new study by Dutch researchers (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Deltares), published today in Nature Communications.

London Luton Airport is the first establishment in the UK to be equipped with ground breaking new stormwater treatment equipment, which is set to transform the way in which airports, and other major infrastructure projects are able to manage surface water runoff.

The House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee has published a report finding that the Government is failing to protect communities at risk of flooding.

A key feature of the Highways England scheme to help tackle Lindal ‘dip’ flooding will be to install a large drain across the carriageway to funnel and channel away run-off water from the A590. Existing drainage will also be replaced with new kerb drains and gullies.

The Environment Agency has announced an action plan for Mytholmroyd which will see more than £10 million invested in flood defences to better protect homes and businesses.
