WHITESANDS FLOODING 2023Dumfries and Galloway Council has progressed to the next stage of developing the proposed £37 million Whitesands Project Flood Protection Scheme to provide both flood protection and regeneration for the Whitesands area of Dumfries.

SHINGLE REPLENISHMENT WORKThe Environment Agency has started shingle replenishment work on the beach between Shoreham and Lancing to help reduce the risk of coastal flooding - the essential maintenance is needed following winter storms.
