House of Lords flags up serious concerns about Water Bill deficiencies
In a lengthy four hour debate this week, the House of Lords has highlighted some serious concerns about the Government’s Water Bill which is now under consideration by the second Chamber.
Ofwat “nervous” over Defra steer in Water Bill & risk of resilience duty as a “licence to build”
Cathryn Ross, chief executive of Ofwat has described the water industry regulator as “slightly nervous” about the requirement in the Water Bill for it to act “in accordance” with the strategic policy steer which Defra is providing.
