The future of the world’s largest tidal power scheme in Scotland is now uncertain following on from last week’s 2017 allocation round for contracts for difference (CfDs) for renewable energy projects which saw its Phase 1C proposed £200 million expansion lose out to established technologies such as offshore wind.
UK firms sign agreements for Indonesian tidal power projects
Atlantis, a global leader in the tidal power generation sector, has signed a Preferred Supplier Agreement with UK firm SBS Intl Ltd for the supply of turbines, engineering services and equipment for a 150MW (megawatt) tidal-stream array located in Lombok, Indonesia.
Meygen tidal scheme wins €20.3m EU grant
Global leader in the tidal power sector Atlantis has announced the award of €20.3 million in Horizon 2020 grant funding from the European Commission for the DEMOTIDE project, which will design, build and operate a 6MW turbine array, MeyGen Phase 1B, in the Inner Sound of the Pentland Firth in northern Scotland.
Belgian firm takes 2% stake in Scottish tidal power project
Atlantis Resources, a global leader in the tidal power sector, has confirmed that Belgian dredging and marine engineering firm DEME has completed its purchase of shares in Tidal Power Scotland Ltd.
