Glen Earrach Energy will hold its first community engagement event on Friday 24 May after submitting a scoping request to the Scottish government for UK’s most efficient pumped storage hydro project.

The Glyn Rhonwy pumped storage scheme has been given Government go-ahead - the Secretary of State has announced the decision to grant development consent to the application by Snowdonia Pumped Hydro Ltd for the project.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has issued environmental permits to Snowdonia Pumped Hydro for the proposed £160 million Glyn Rhonwy pumped storage hydro-electric scheme in North Wales to generate 99.9 MW of power.
