EU sets out blue energy action plan

The European Commission has today launched a new action plan to facilitate further development of the renewable ocean energy sector in Europe.

Thames Water is using innovative Canadian technology to produce the UK’s first eco-friendly, ultra-pure fertiliser phosphorous-­based fertiliser in a new £2 million plant at its Slough sewage treatment works in Berkshire.

 

Southern Water is planning to use ultra violet light to treat stormwater leaving Chichester Wastewater Treatment Works. 

 

Leading UK water technology provider Bluewater Bio is urging the UK water companies to highlight their efforts to introduce innovative technologies to reduce their operational costs in the face of recent pressure at both Government and regulatory level.

 

Businesses and government must adapt to ensure manufacturing continues to play a powerful role in the UK economy, or they risk being left behind international competitors, according to a new report published today.

The Society of British Water and Wastewater Industries, one of the UK’s leading water sector trade bodies, is calling for urgent action to ensure the UK water sector speaks with a strong single voice in the fast-developing energy smart metering agenda.

 

 

Imtech Process and Royal HaskoningDHV have signed a cooperation agreement for the delivery of five to eight Neredawastewater treatment installations in the coming years.
