Yorkshire Water reject beach closure claims

Yorkshire Water has rejected claims in two national newspapers  that Scarborough South beach could be closed for bathing next year because of water quality issues.

The Environment Agency is holding two meetings to set out plans for the second phase of a £26-million scheme to strengthen the banks of the Whittlesey Washes which is due to start later this year .

The work will be focused on the commercialisation of research in a range of key areas, such as water tech and agri tech.
