Southern Water has gone out to tender with a multi-million pound contract for the Thanet Sewers rehabilitation phase 2 main works contract – the water company is seeking a contractor to complete the construction works.

A case study in the Government's Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) newly released  Annual Report on major projects for 2015-16 has flagged up the £4.2 billion Thames Tideway Tunnel as as a benchmark for the development of future major UK infrastructure projects.

The National Audit Office is warning that a third of major government projects due to deliver in the next five years, including infrastructure and construction, are rated as being in doubt or unachievable if action is not taken to improve delivery.
