Whickham flood scheme in the pipeline

Northumbrian Water starts work today on a £600,000 scheme to protect five properties from flooding.

A 1960s sewer which runs alongside the main Bristol to London railway line has been repaired using no dig technology.

Almost 200 homes in Dorset have been safeguarded from flooding thanks to a programme of works to improve the county’s sewerage system.

The sixth largest water company in England and Wales, Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, has taken a top prize at this year’s prestigious Business Commitment to the Environment (BCE) Environmental Leadership Awards for developing the first successful commercial application of ultraviolet (UV) disinfection technology to treat poor quality sewage.

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water customers served by Pen y Cefn water treatment works are set to benefit from a£7.8 million investment scheme.
