Dwr Cymru Welsh Water customers served by Pen y Cefn water treatment works are set to benefit from a £7.8 million investment scheme.
The company has started work on the upgrade scheme which will further help protect the quality of drinking water to the customers supplied by the works. The essential scheme is scheduled for completion by June 2011.
Simon Cowan, Welsh Water’s Project Manager said:
“This work is part of a wider £200 million investment across Wales to upgrade and expand water treatment works to bring long term benefit to our customers. It will ensure that we continue to provide a wholesome and reliable supply of water to our customers at all times.”
The scheme will be delivered by Black & Veatch, working with Dawnus and other partners, on behalf of Welsh Water.Welsh Water is investing £1.3 billion in its water and sewerage network between 2010 and 2015.
