Anglian Water is getting ready to carry out more work near Brigg for its flagship Strategic Pipeline project next week.

The essential work is planned on the A18 (Melton Road) in Wrawby from Friday 13 February to Monday 16 February. Diversion signage will be in place around the closure to keep engineers and road users safe.
If teams are unable to complete the work due to circumstances beyond their control, such as adverse weather conditions, the work will be carried out on a contingency weekend of 20 to 23 February. This will only be used if the initial closure cannot go ahead.
The work is being delivered by Anglian Water’s Strategic Pipeline Alliance, comprising leading partners Costain, Farrans, Jacobs, and Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB). The Strategic Pipeline will eventually stretch hundreds of kilometres from Elsham in North Lincolnshire to Essex, and is a key part of Anglian Water’s long-term plan to build resilience in one of the driest parts of the UK.
As part of the project, Anglian Water will be installing a pipeline beneath the A18 carriageway, which requires a road closure to allow the engineers in the alliance to work safely. The weekends have been chosen in close consultation with Lincolnshire Highways to minimise disruption to residents, businesses and road users as much as possible.
Colin Wilkinson, Programme Area Manager at SPA, said:
