Galliford Try, the construction and housebuilding group, has just announced a £200 million contract win in its GCA joint venture with Costain Group plc and Atkins (WS) plc to upgrade and extend Liverpool waste water treatment works for United Utilities Group plc.
The joint venture was appointed by UU to work on its AMP5 schemes in April 2010. The Liverpool waste water scheme will be progressed as part of the existing process alliance framework. Work involves extending the current treatment works in Vauxhall into the adjacent dock along with major upgrade works to the existing plant, all of which will maintain the high quality of the final effluent in line with discharge consents set by the Environment Agency.
Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, commented:
“We are delighted to secure this business from an existing framework client. It builds on our track record in delivering both clean and waste water infrastructure projects. Galliford Try is one of the UK’s leading infrastructure contractors to the water industry, working under five-year asset management programmes as well as on single projects for seven of the country’s major water utility businesses.”
