i2O Water makes Global Cleantech 100 list of top private companies

Southampton-headquartered i2O Water has today announced that its cutting-edge work in Advanced Pressure Management has led to inclusion in the Global Cleantech 100 list.

The prestigious list is determined by combining research data from the Cleantech Group with over 6,000 nominations and specific input from an expert panel.Companies on the list represent the most innovative and promising organisations actively tackling tomorrow’s clean technology challenges.

i2O Water’s Advanced Pressure Management solution is unique in the market, with an architecture combining hardware and software enabling water companies to proactively and remotely manage their pressure across water distribution networks, reducing excessive pressure or increasing areas of insufficient pressure according to demand. The technology delivers on six key areas of value for water companies; reduced leakage and burst frequency, lower energy consumption, reduced operational costs and extended asset life.

Founded in 2005 and with overseas offices in Malaysia, Spain and Colombia, i2O Water’s patented Advanced Pressure Management solutions provide world-leading technology for optimising the performance of water distribution networks. With 900+ installations in hundreds of water networks across 21 countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South America. have seen the company generate a rapid return on investment from Advanced Pressure Management.

Major UK water companies using the technology include South East Water, Veolia Water, Severn Trent, Yorkshire Water and Anglian Water.

Examples include:

  • Veolia Water is saving 2.5 million litres of water a day, leading to operational savings of £375,000 a year from an initial roll-out to 31 District Metering Areas (DMAs)
  • Severn Trent Water reduced leakage by more than 19% across 30 DMAs
  • SYABAS in Malaysia cut water leakage by 40 million litres per day and burst frequency by 48%
