Staff cuts loom at Black and Veatch

Black and Veatch are contemplating up to 200 redundancies in the UK as a result of a failure to gain work in the water sector in the current investment programmes for England, Wales and Scotland.

According to a letter to staff seen by New Civil Engineer, the “worst case scenario” has resulted from an internal review of to the end of the year of its UK resource requirements. Up to half of the cuts would be made in its construction business.

Black and Veatch has as yet made no official comment.
