Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water has announced the partners it has appointed to deliver part of its AMP6 £1.5 billion capital investment programme for 2015 to 2020.

The company’s capital partners for 2015 to 2020 have been confirmed as:

• Skanska Construction UK Limited working with Hyder Consulting (UK) Limited
• Mott Macdonald Bentley Limited
• Morgan Sindall working with Arup

In addition, Galliford Try Infrastructure Limited working with AECOM Limited have entered into an agreement with the company as a reserve capital partner.

Following a competitive procurement process, the successful partners will work closely with Welsh Water throughout the AMP6 investment period. The contracts will run for an initial five year period from 2015 – 2020, with an option to extend for a further five years in AMP7.

Welsh Water has recently received its ‘Draft Determination’ for its AMP6 Business Plan from the industry regulator Ofwat.  The determination will enable Welsh Water and its new partners to start work on the AMP6 programme early to help smooth the transition from the current AMP5 period.

 A key driver for Welsh Water in its selection of partners for AMP6 was to identify companies who could work collaboratively in the new Capital Delivery Alliance. The Alliance will drive value in the planning and pre-construction phase by co-locating Welsh Water, contractor and consultant resource into a single Integrated Solutions Team to help facilitate collaboration and innovation.

Dŵr Cymru directly employs over 2,400 people (full-time equivalents) in Wales and through their operational and capital spending, a further 3,700 jobs are supported in other parts of the economy. The firm has around 1,000 suppliers based in Wales.
