Engineers at United Utilities are working round the clock to save a sick wastewater treatment works in High Peak.

Balfour Beatty has warned that it is facing a £150 million profit shortfall in its latest trading update ahead of its results for the half-year ended 26 June 2015 which will be announced on 12 August 2015.

United Utilities is assembling a 450-strong team for its upcoming inspection of the Haweswater Aqueduct in September.

Thames Water has calculated that the extra water being sprayed by gardeners in Oxford in a bid to ‘save their lawns’ could be adding as much as £855,000 to the city’s monthly water bill and filling up to 10 Olympic swimming pools with water every day .
