Innovative products from Netherlands-headquartered European specialist drainage systems manufacturer Kijlstra are being used in two separate projects, further expanding the firm’s work in the UK water sector where it has experienced “extraordinary growth” since setting up in 2008.

Kier completes Mouchel acquistion

Kier Group has announced that the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of international infrastructure and business services group Mouchel  was completed on 8 June 2015.

UK-headquartered global design, engineering and project management consultancy WS Atkins has reported a return to growth in its UK water and environment work with the publication this morning of its preliminary results for the year ended 31 March 2015.

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water has reported a strong operational and financial performance in 2014-15 and a record upcoming £1.7 billion investment for AMP6 with the publication this morning of its preliminary annual results.

SUEZ environnement  and its partner NWS Holdings Limited have signed a preliminary cooperation agreement with Chongqing Water Assets Management Co. Ltd. in order to create a joint entity aimed at investing in the water and environmental sector in China.

Leading global engineering and project delivery company CH2M has been named the winner of the 2015 Stockholm Industry Water Award, for developing and advancing methods to clean water, and increasing public acceptance of recycled water.

The merger between South West Water and Bournemouth Water has been referred for an in-depth phase 2 investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

Sutton and East Surrey Water is starting work this week on a  £1.3 million scheme to replace ageing water mains in South Croydon.

Scottish Water has completed a major £2.8 million upgrade of its Balmichael Water Treatment Works(WTW on the island of Arran to improve water quality for almost 4000 customers served by the works.

Water industry regulator Ofwat has been criticised by Bristol Water’s local customer challenge group the Local Engagement Forum in its evidence to the current review by the Competition and Markets Authority of the water company’s appeal against Ofwat’s PR14 price determination.
