Scottish Water has completed a major £8 million upgrade to increase the capacity of its Penwhirn reservoir by 40 per cent – the reservoir supplies communities throughout Wigtownshire.

Four huge mains which have been supplying water to Liverpool since Dickensian times are set to be replaced in a  £6million project by United Utilities to thread  5km of new, plastic pipes through the current cast-iron versions.

Northumbrian Water Group, parent company of Essex & Suffolk Water, has maintained its world title as the only water company to be added to the 2015 World’s Most Ethical Company® list for the fifth year running.

 

Balfour Beatty, one of the early members of The 5% Club, is marking National Apprenticeship Week (9th -13th March) with a range of new commitments to help more young people find work in the growing infrastructure sector.

United Utilities has invited residents in Davyhulme and Urmston to view the plans for a multi-million pound extension to the local wastewater treatment works.

Southern Water is continuing to progress work on essential improvements to reduce the risk of sewer flooding in Ryde – including the installation of a 21 meter deep storage tank.

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is extending its campaign to encourage people to help reduce the risk of pollution and sewage flooding to homes.

DBA 1Ovivo Inc. has sold its highly respected UK municipal business for an undisclosed sum to part of the well regarded existing senior management team led by Alex Lloyd, Ovivo’s Vice President, UK Municipal and Finance Director, Peter Sargent.
