Land & Marine, a subsidiary of J. Murphy & Sons Limited, has landed Bristol Water’s AMP6 Capital Works – Trunk Mains Renovation Framework, on the back of its strong performance in AMP5.
The company has been one of Bristol Water’s principal contractors since 2013 and was responsible for delivering the AMP5 Large Diameter Trunk Mains Framework. This saw the renovation of over 45km of trunk mains across Bristol including working in heavily congested urban environments, utilising a combination of construction techniques including sliplining, rolldown, directional drilling and open cut.
The new AMP6 framework, worth up to £10million, will deliver approximately six schemes in a mixture of rural and urban environments, totalling 30km, and continues to facilitate Bristol Water’s capital programme of regional improvements.
Martin Oakes, Head of Civil Engineering, Land & Marine, commented:
“With a solid health & safety record, our AMP5 framework is a prime example of how collaborative methods of working can deliver real benefits to the stakeholders that we serve, and we are delighted to take this approach forward into AMP6.”
Bristol Water commented:
“We have established good practice in how we communicate and deliver our schemes and have worked closely with Land & Marine to minimise the disruption to our customers, traffic and communities and will continue to do so in AMP 6.”
