Tesco has awarded the water supply contract for its 281 Scottish stores and distribution centres and stores to United Utilities Scotland.
United Utilities became Scotland’s second largest water retailer in just twelve months by May last year after obtaining a water supply licence to operate in the competitive Scottish water market.
The firm now works with over 3,000 sites across Scotland including, hotels, retailers, manufacturers, transport firms and Scotland’s oldest school Loretto.
According to United Utilities Scotland, which has saved customers over £3 million since 2012, the contract with the largest commercial customer in Scotland will save Tesco more than £800,000 a year.
