Anglian Water has set up a power purchase agreement to secure renewable energy solutions for its sites.
The water company has been looking for partners who will secure 100 % of the required funding and then deliver renewable energy solutions for its sites. Anglian’s aim was to award a maximum of four frameworks for wind and solar, with these two sources of renewable energy as its initial focus.
The company went out to tender in two lots, with a maximum of two suppliers for each lot.
Under the contract, the successful framework supplier will finance, project manage, design, procure, construct, operate and maintain the installations.
Anglian Water has already identified a number of sites where such installations may be possible. Framework partners will be offered the exclusive opportunity to develop detailed proposals which allow Anglian Water to enter into a long term power purchase contract with the supplier.
Hampshire based company HBS Group Southern Ltd has won the work, one of eight companies to bid for the contract.
