Business water retailer Water Plus has secured a place on the LASER water buying framework which will allow it to be a water, waste water and ancillary services supplier to public sector organisations across the UK.

In March, Water Plus was also appointed to the Crown Commercial Services framework for UK public services, allowing it access to a market worth £960 million. The framework will save the public sector more than £20 million over four years.

LASER is wholly owned by Kent County Council under its Commercial Services umbrella and is now one of the largest energy and water Public Buying Organisations in the UK.

A well-established energy buyer for the public sector, LASER works with more than 65,000 customers, including councils, NHS trusts, housing associations and other public-funded bodies.

 LASER’s water framework contains multiple suppliers who were successful in meeting the requirements of a tender. Public sector customers can select a supplier from the framework through a mini tender process.

 Dedicated account managers will be appointed to large public sector clients, which often benefit from a water audit or smart meter installations.

Water Plus, a joint venture between United Utilities and Severn Trent, has also developed a water efficiency app to help customers audit themselves.
