United Utilities has launched a market testing exercise for the supply of red diesel and kerosene and the provision of a storage service.
The scope is for the supply of red fuels (Diesel and Kerosene) for use in UU's fleet of off road machines such as plant and generators and for the purposes of providing heating.
The water company also requires an emergency storage of DERV to be delivered or collected as required in the event of a fuel shortage.
United Utilities will use the information to help determine its overall approach and any future strategy in relation to the procurement of strategic fuels for use in applications outside of on-road fleet vehicles.
