Water retailer Source for Business has won a multi-million pound contract with Unite Students to provide services to its student accommodation sites across the UK.
Unite Students is the UK’s largest manager and developer of purpose-built student accommodation. It provides high-quality accommodation to around 50,000 students in more than 140 properties across 28 university cities in England and Scotland.
Source for Business, part of Pennon Water Services, will be providing water and wastewater retail services including billing, meter reading and expert advice on reducing water consumption and cost as part of a £4.5million contract.

Source for Business is currently working with Unite Students on innovative ways of reducing water consumption across its sites, including using the latest technology to communicate with students about their water usage.
The contract was awarded after a competitive tendering process which saw experts from Source for Business carry out a detailed audit of one of Unite’s sites in London, suggesting ways of achieving significant cost savings across its property portfolio.
The tender process was managed by the energy consultants Ignite Energy.
The contract is the latest in a series of tender wins for Source for Business since the non-household water market opened up to competition in April 2017. Earlier this month, it was announced that Source for Business had won a £2 million contract with the national healthcare operator BMI Healthcare.
Part of the FTSE 250 Pennon Group Plc, Source for Business operates as the trading brand of Pennon Water Services; a Joint Venture between Pennon Group and South Staffordshire Plc both with over 25 years’ experience in regulated water supply. It is licensed by Ofwat and provides water retail services across Great Britain.
