United Utilities is looking to suppliers in a pre-market engagement exercise on energy services energy fixed price financial arrangements.
The water company is interested in understanding what financial swaps, PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements) and other financial arrangements are currently available within the market in order to fix a proportion of the commodity cost of their power.
United Utilities would like to receive proposals from external parties detailing the structure of the arrangement and indicative rates.
The term of the proposals which the providers should look to provide should start from 2020 and vary from in length from 5 to 25 years with volumes ranging from 5MW – 20MW.
United Utilities is conducting the pre-market engagement in order to understand what is potentially on offer before it commits to any formal procurement process.
Estimated date of publication of a contract notice following the pre-market engagement is 1st May 2018.
