Retail sector: Wave wins water services contract with Savills for 500+ sites

The FTSE 250 property business, Savills, is set to drive significant service enhancements after signing a three-year contract with a leading national water retailer, Wave.

Headquartered in the heart of London and with offices across the UK, the global real estate services provider has switched its water retailer to improve efficiencies across its extensive national client portfolio. The new water and wastewater contract with Wave covers 450 sites in England and 65 sites in Scotland.

The switch to Wave, which provides water and wastewater services to over 300,000 businesses across the UK, means Savills’ clients will benefit from services such as tariff optimisation and improved billing accuracy.

Sara Gough, Operations Director within Savills Property Management commented:

“Wave clearly demonstrated the breadth of their experience to us with significant expertise in managing multiple sites, driving down consumption and lowering costs. We need to manage changes effectively across our portfolio and help our clients to reduce their bills and realise cost benefits. The team at Wave was the natural choice to deliver on our aims and support our clients.”

Savills’ UK client base can also access Wave’s Active Water Management® service - designed to reduce usage and avoid waste – as well as leakage services, technical support and automatic meter reading to help monitor use of their water and control costs.

Gough continued:

“What really stood out for us during the tender process was Wave’s range of value-added services. As well as a sound approach to managing supply, we were impressed with the opportunities available to our clients to help lower water consumption. Although we anticipate significant initial savings, what is most important to us is improving billing accuracy, effective account management and the ability to identify high consumption more quickly. We made the switch to Wave to achieve time and cost efficiencies for Savills and our clients.”

Lee Shipsey, Deputy CEO at Wave said:

“We are delighted to be working with one of the largest real estate service providers in the world. Our experience in managing complex, multiple sites will stand us in good stead. The contract demonstrates Savills’ commitment to driving water efficiency and maintaining high standards of service to their clients nationally. We are keen to show how our expertise in identifying high consumption can deliver cost savings for their clients.”

Wave is a market-leading national water retailer, formed through a joint venture between Anglian Water Business and NWG Business following deregulation of the English water market in April 2017.

Wave provides water and wastewater services to over 300,000 businesses across the UK and supplies all of the Scottish public sector.
