Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a framework contract for the monitoring and maintenance of its hydro power assets worth an estimated £10.8 million in total.
The water company is looking for contractors to operate, service and maintain hydro power assets to maximise generation and performance at sites across mainland Scotland. The schemes are split in to two lots, one being slightly north of the central belt and the other within or south of the central belt.
Scope of work covered under the framework includes:
- providing daily remote monitoring services for hydro power assets where comms are available or practical
- evidence that they can operate the asset types
- regular inspections and servicing
- delivery of planned and reactive maintenance of the relevant asset type and component parts
- optimising each renewable scheme for the asset type in order to maximise the energy generated that will offset onsite asset consumption or be exported to the grid
The contract will run from the 1st of February 2020 until the 31st of March 2024 with the potential for three further optional one year extension options.
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 19th April 2019 – click here to access the tender documentation.
