Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions Limited has won a general services agreement contract with Southern Water Services which covers the installation of AMR water meters.
The contract includes the management of surveying, installation, and exchange of domestic intelligent water meters. Five companies were in the bidding for the five year framework agreement. Southern Water Services described the work as an innovative project which is essential to the delivery of the company’s water resources management plan.
Southern Water said it was essential that the project engages customers, putting them in control of their water bill and giving them the information they need to make decisions about water and energy use in their home.
The scheduled date for starting was 1.4.2010 with completion due by 31.3.2015.
