United Utilities tenders £1m contract for Legal Adviser on Manchester and Pennines Resilience project

United Utilities has gone out to tender with a contract for a Legal Adviser on its Manchester and Pennines Resilience project worth an estimated £1 million.

The project, which formed part of its PR19 business plan submission, is intended to be delivered via Ofwat’s new Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC) approach.

The water company is now looking to appoint a Legal Adviser throughout the project to support and advise through to financial close out.

The company is committed to evaluating the project using the green book for project appraisal – the Adviser must therefore be familiar with and have experience of advising on projects that have used and been evaluated in accordance with the green book.

The Legal Adviser will need to demonstrate a strong track record on similar advisory roles, with experience in UK infrastructure projects and a UK regulated utilities environment described as highly desirable, particularly in advising on projects which have the UK Government and/or UK economic regulators as key stakeholders.

Anticipated award date of the contract is December 2019 - the initial contract term from award will be around 2.5 years.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 9th September 2019 – click here to access the tender documentation.
