South Staffordshire Water has gone out to tender with a contract for the supply of energy worth an estimated £50 million.
The water company is looking for a supplier of energy to provide gas and electricity across its offices and sites, including its major treatment works and production sites in the Cambridge and South Staffs regions.
Electricity consumption is anticipated at 80 000 000 kWhs and gas at 110 000 000 kWhs per annum. South Staffs is looking for a supplier who will bring innovative ways of managing the asset base to minimise energy consumption. The supplier will also be expected to highlight revenue opportunities through Demand Side Response, supported by appropriate suites of data and management information.
The water company said it is also keen to explore the use of renewable and green energy and asset utilisation. The contract will run for a four year term during thr course of AMP7.
