Severn Trent Water has awarded a contract for the supply of gas to itself and sister company Hafren Dyfrdwy Cyfyngedig worth an estimated £20 million in total.
The two companies have a combined annual consumption of approximately 80 GWhs across 66 supplies.
The bulk of the contract covers SevernTrent’s gas import portfolio on a fully flexible supply basis — 64 sites and annual consumption of 80 GWh.
Hafren Dyfrdwy's gas import portfolio consists of 2 meters with an annual consumption of 76 000 kWh.
The contract began on 1st April and runs until the end of AMP7, with a further three year extension option. The contract has been awarded to Gazprom Energy, one of six energy suppliers in the bidding for the work.
