SSE Renewables Ltd has gone out to tender with a framework contract for geotechnical engineering services worth an estimated £78 million in total.

The utility is looking to award a series of framework agreements that cover a range of offshore geotechnical and geophysical services to the UK and Ireland.
Scope of services covered under the proposed framework agreements include:
- Offshore geotechnical investigation: drilling and coring, downhole CPT (inc Seismic CPT), deep push seabed CPT’s, geotechnical sampling and in-situ testing (including wireline logging and pressuremeter/HPD testing) and laboratory testing;
- Offshore geotechnical investigation: enhanced deep push seabed CPT’s (inc Seismic CPT) utilising >20t thrust capability;
- Offshore and nearshore geotechnical investigation: standard seabed CPT’s and Vibro-core sampling;
- Nearshore geotechnical investigation: drilling and coring, downhole CPT’s (including Seismic CPT), geotechnical sampling and in-situ testing (including wireline logging and pressuremeter/HPD testing) and laboratory testing – jack-up;
- Offshore geophysical survey: MBES, SSS, SBP and magnetometer surveys (including UXO clearance);
- Offshore geophysical survey: detailed geophysical surveys (Seismic Refraction, 2D and 3D Hi Resolution Surveys);
- Nearshore geophysical survey: MBES, SSS, SBP and magnetometer surveys (including UXO clearance);
- Nearshore geophysical survey: detailed geophysical surveys (Seismic Refraction, 2D and 3D Hi Resolution Surveys).
