United Utilities has gone out to tender with an AMP7 contract for Engineering, Programme Management & Commercial Resources services worth an estimated £16 million.
The water company already engages a strategic partner as an Engineering Service Provider (ESP), to provide engineering resources as required, and a Programme Management Office Service Provider (PMO) to provide programme management & commercial resources as required.
However, due to volume of requirements and capacity issues on occasion the ESP &/or PMO is unable to meet all of the company’s requirements.
United Utilities is now looking to put a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) in place which will be utilised to provide an alternative route to securing such requirements in the event of the ESP/PMO being unable to support a specific request or requirement.
The contract is being tendered in two separate Lots:
Lot 1 - Engineering Resources - Resource orders & project based works packages £8,000,000
Resource order for single or multi resources, requirement to cover multiple engineering disciplines, currently expected to include:
- Process Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Hydraulic Modelling
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Asset Information or BIM
Lot 2 - Programme Management & Commercial Resources £8,000,000
Resource order for single or multi resources, requirement to cover multiple engineering disciplines, currently expected to include:
- Programme Manager
- Project Manager (construction)
- Construction Supervisor
- 3rd Party Advisor
- Project Controller
- Quantity Surveyor
- Contract Formulator
- Contract Manager
