Lancashire County Council has gone out to tender with a contract for electrical services/ maintenance of submersible pumps, surface mounted pumps, compressor and blowers worth an estimated £300,000.

The Local Authority currently operates 19 submersible pumps, 21 surface mounted pumps, 1 compressor and 5 blowers at 8 landfill sites located across Lancashire.
Lancashire County Counci has a responsibility to manage its closed landfill sites as well as enforcing environmental standards as per various legislative requirements.
The services to be provided under the contract will involve:
- pump service checks
- emergency pump exchanges
- pump repairs
- blower servicing and repair
The contract will also cover the provision of additional services as requested by the Council from time to time.
Initial contract term is 4 years.
