Severn Trent Water is re-tendering its framework for Ecological Services and has launched the prequalification stage to assist Severn Trent in deciding which suppliers to shortlist for the required services.

The water company requires ecological surveys to determine the presence of habitats and species within specific areas. Undertaking the surveys will help ensure the design and delivery of development works for Severn Trent is completed in a responsible way and in accordance with ecological legislation, including the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
Severn Trent said the information provided by the surveys will assist with the planning and scheduling of the activities, helping to ensure programme commitments are met.
Core survey activities and support work covered under the framework include:
- preliminary ecological assessments
- UK habitat assessments
- ecological supervision of vegetation clearance
- production of biodiversity enhancement plans
- production of Biodiversity Action Plans
- species specific surveys (bat, great crested newt, badger etc)
Initial contract term is 36 months with a further three annual extension options.
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 14 February 2023 – click here to access the tender documentation.
