Northern Ireland Water and its subsidiaries have gone out to tender with a contract for its network maintenance programme to deliver water and wastewater network maintenance and associated services worth an estimated £400 million.

The programme, which is being tendered in four Lots, will deliver improvements, repairs and maintenance services across their water and wastewater network for the water company’s PC21 and PC27 Price Control periods.
- Lot 1 - Water and Wastewater Networks Improvements Repairs and Maintenance Services
- Lot 2 - Wastewater Network Cleaning and Maintenance and Associated Services,
- Lot 3 - Desludging of Septic Tanks
- Lot 4 - New Development and Metering Infrastructure (Installation and Maintenance).
NI Water intends to award contracts to separate Economic Operators for each Lot, who will be able to submit (or be part of) a tender response for one or more Lots, either as a standalone Economic Operator, member of a Joint Venture or a key subcontractor. However, an Economic Operator may only be appointed to one Lot, in any capacity.
Initial contract tern is 4 years with three further annual extension options.
