United Utilities has awarded an AMP8/ 9 framework contract for developer services and lead replacement with a potential estimated value of £260 million.

Services to be provided under the wide-ranging contract described when the water company first outlined the opportunity in December 2022 covered management and delivery of metering services including planning, scheduling and streetworks management associated with:
- replacement/maintenance/repair of valves, hydrants, ferrules
- mains diversions
- new connections – clean water only — survey with planned activity & material schedule
- new connections – clean water & wastewater — installation of manifolds, comm pipes, chambers/minor sewerage infrastructure
- main laying – clean water only — excavate & lay, lay only, self-lay mains connection, self-lay mains test & chlorinate
- non-standard work, eg. clean water & wastewater mains diversion for the purposes of developer work
Network Plus Services Limited has been awarded the contract, which will run for 120 months.
The framework has been put in place by United Utilities to facilitate works during the upcoming 2025-30 AMP8 and 2030-35 AMP9 asset management plan periods.
