The water company has issued a Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) notice on behalf of itself and sister company Hafren Dyfrdwy Cyfyngedig inviting engagement from suppliers who may be interested in submitting a tender response for a closed framework agreement covering the following:

  • Access to Quarries and Supply of Materials: supply for construction materials and aggregates.
  • Recycling Centres: Access to recycling centres for tipping of construction waste (either direct tipping or waste collection).
  • Landfill Sites: Access to landfill sites (all types) for tipping of construction waste (either direct tipping or waste collection).

The requirements will initially be to support Severn Trent's AMP 8 period and Mains Renewal programme - however, there may also be wider opportunities within the organisation in the future.

The preliminary market engagement activity is optional and does not contribute to the procurement process itself. Current estimated total value of the framework is put at £30 million including VAT.

Estimated publication date of a formal tender notice is 9 June 2025, while estimated contract dates are 1 November 2025 to 30 October 2026 with a possible further extension option to 30 October 2030.

The water company says it is keen to engage with interested suppliers to help design and tailor a sourcing strategy and procurement process that meets its requirement but is also suitable to the widest group of suppliers.

Deadline to respond to the PME  is 2nd May 2025.
