Cambi has signed a lease for a compact thermal hydrolysis process (THP) unit to provide additional treatment capacity at Thames Water’s Oxford sewage treatment works.
The agreement has an initial one-year term with two one-year extension options. Thames Water will operate the system. Annual maintenance is included in each year of the lease.

This agreement underlines Cambi’s flexible delivery model, using leasing solutions tailored to meet immediate operational needs while permanent capacity is being evaluated.”
The lease of the Cambi THP will increase local treatment capacity by more than 50%, enabling Thames Water to process all solids locally instead of trucking considerable volumes for treatment elsewhere.
Commissioning is planned in 2026, following installation and commissioning supervision that is included in the first-year lease fee.
Thames Water operates Cambi THP systems at seven locations.
Value of the contract is stated as small - at the lower end of 15-50 million NOK (£1.14 million to £3.8 million approx)
